Private Cloud: Virtual datacentres (vCloud)

This service provides a private Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) cloud to the University. This automated self-service, highly available, multi-site virtual infrastructure is available to groups of VM’s providing isolated networking and firewalling services. Administration and console access is via a web-based service. For the deployment of applications for departments, colleges, divisions, and researchers. This service covers windows licensing costs through Data Centre licensing and is on a High Availability Cluster between Slough and Oxford. This service is also available through the small research facility framework.
